the invoice
The journalist and the analyst read GLOOMBORG for free — they are the credibility. The builder embedding market claims in a product is the invoice. You need one thing a scraped CSV can't give you: every number able to state its basis, and a licence that permits commercial use.
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
sources_expected | how many sources this answer depends on |
sources_live | how many actually contributed |
sources_missing[] | which ones did not — by name |
coverage | received ÷ expected, for the period |
staleness | age of the newest observation per source |
license | the licence of each contributing source, on the row |
The receipt, given its name. Every observation carries: provenance (source, licence, commercial use), drift (when we saw it minus when the source claimed it), freshness, coverage, and its assumptions — each tagged verified, assumed, or violated. No single trust score. The components are handed over; you draw the conclusion. Cards, not conclusions — applied to the data itself.
GET /v1/philosophy/{gbb} returns the receipt for a resolved series. Where a feed is licence-gated, the endpoint says so honestly instead of faking a datum.
| Tier | Price | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| FREE | £0 | 10 rpm · 100-point depth · no streaming |
| COFFEE | £5 /mo | 20 rpm · 250 depth · coverage ledger · alerts |
| API | £10 /mo | 60 rpm · 500 depth |
| PRO | £25 /mo | 300 rpm · full history · streaming · BYOK · SSO · a named human |
Nothing promises "unlimited". Nothing carries an SLA we cannot honour. The limits are stated because honesty is the product.
Sources with restricted licences are gated, not faked. Public-domain records are live by default; restricted sources sit behind BYOK — attach your own key and the feed turns on. The licence question is enforced by the code, not remembered by a human.
